Description:
Expression of Interest are invited for Assessment of the Readiness of EDL to Accommodate Renewable Energy This assignment aims to conduct an assessment of the operational and technological readiness of Electricité Du Liban (EDL) to accommodate renewable energy on transmission; distribution grids; and telecommunication infrastructure.It will address the following scope of work:1. Assess the existing infrastructure and capacity of EDL's transmission and distribution grids.2. Evaluate the operational readiness of the telecommunication infrastructure; including Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA); control centers; real-time operations; and power balancing; to support renewable energy integration.3. Identify key challenges and bottlenecks for integrating renewable energy sources within EDL's current operations and telecommunication systems.4. Formulate recommendations for infrastructure and telecommunication system upgrades or changes to enable a higher proportion of renewable energy in EDL's energy mix.5. Develop an implementation plan for the suggested upgrades; including timelines and cost estimates.6. Analyze the impact of renewable energy integration on reliability; affordability; and sustainability of power supply.The consulting firm is expected to work closely with the World Bank team and relevant stakeholders; including EDL's management and technical teams; and regulatory authorities. The firm should adhere to international best practices and maintain the highest level of professional and ethical standards. Regular progress updates should be provided throughout the duration of the project.
