• Tenders are invited for Biomass Boilers for Kfarhay Sos Village Closing Date: Wednesday, 25. Jan 2023 Intervention Sector(s): Children & Youth SOS Children's Villages Lebanon has the intention to replace for the family houses the existing 25 KW diesel fired boilers with biomass boilers. The existing boilers are used for space and water heating. They are connected to an existing piping network with a circulation pump and to an exhaust stack. The mechanical room for each house has ample space to install the biomass boiler and a stock of biomass fuel for several days. It is the responsibility of the bidder to make sure that the existing mechanical room will easily accommodate the biomass boiler. Bidder shall also submit an offer for 6 tonnes of biomass feedstock (olive pomace, wood pellets or other convenient solid biomass) Scope of the tender: Supply of biomass boilers as per below specifications and assist in boiler start-up. Biomass boiler specifications; Heated medium: Water Output rating: 25 KW Efficiency: 90% Operating temperature: 90°c fuel used: olive pomace, wood chips, wood pellets, fruit stones, wood briquettes, chopped straw. boiler should be able to handle solid biomass of 3 cm diameter and 5 cm length feeding system: manual discharge into hopper equipped with automatic auger screw feeding to combustion chamber. hopper capacity shall be enough for 5 hours operation at full load ignition: automatic emissions: low particles emissions cleaning: easy access to ash compartment and heat exchanger insulation: boiler body shall be properly insulated to reduce heat losses to minimum controls: boiler shall allow easy regulation of output temperature and a timer for programmed shutdown qty: 10 pcs how to apply the bidder must conduct a site visit in order to verify the quantities and details (site visit is mandatory and scheduled on january 18). the proposal of a contractor who did not conduct a site visit will be rejected. electricity and water during working hours are to be provided by the contractor all bids must be submitted in sealed envelope showing the project name, bidder-s name, phone number and email to the following address: beirut, sin el fil, monseigneur shebli street, sos building, 3rd floor. note that all pages should be stamped and signed. all debris and resulting material are to be removed away from site by the general contractor. approved bidders should sign sos child safeguarding policy and code of conduct
