  • Tenders are invited for Communications Specialist. Closing Date: Wednesday, 21. Sep 2022 Intervention Sector(s): Communications & Media Remuneration range: 5000 to 6000 (USD) Duration of Contract: Detailed timeline per deliverable to be agreed upon with the consultant. Power to Choose - Communications Expert Consultant Developing a comprehensive digital communication and visibility strategy and tools for Marsa and Oxfam August 2022 Description Oxfam in Lebanon, with the support of Global Affairs Canada (GAC), and in partnership with Marsa Sexual Health Center, is implementing a project entitled β€œPower to Choose Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights for Young Women and Adolescent Girls” (SRHR Program 2021-2029). This multi-country initiative aims at addressing existing gaps in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) in 7 countries in sub-Saharan Africa (DRC and Ghana), in the Middle East (Jordan, Lebanon, oPt), and in Latin America (Bolivia and Honduras). This project builds on Oxfam-s expertise in using a rights-based approach as well as on Oxfam-s and its local partners- knowledge and experience through working on shifting power relations and social norms, to collectively advocate for changes to harmful social norms and policies. Communication activities designed include developing a unified visual identity and branding for this project, which will be employed throughout the entire duration of the project to disseminate the designed audio-visual content, including informative factual graphics and human-interest stories. Objective Oxfam, in collaboration with Marsa, is looking to hire a Communications Expert Consultant to develop a comprehensive digital communication and visibility strategy and tools for Oxfam and Marsa. The aim of this comprehensive digital communication and visibility strategy is: To develop a strategy and an analysis to guide all the branding package for the project from now until two years for Oxfam and Marsa, in collaboration with Marsa, including guiding all the communication products of the project. To ensure targeted messaging and increase project visibility, and to maintain it throughout the project. To support Marsa-s own Instagram account, as well as their dissemination around SRHR (i.e. checking who they should target, which tools they should use for the development of their Instagram page, and to follow up on their work for the duration of the project). To guide Oxfam-s LinkedIn and Facebook strategies around SRHR. Provide a sustainability plan to the existing social media platforms and digital presence of both Marsa and Oxfam. This requires meeting with Marsa and Oxfam for all the communication activities, their planning, and their budgeting. Guide and strategize the work of social media activists supported by Oxfam and Marsa with their digital engagement and advocacy efforts. Within this framework, the communication activities of Power to Choose in Lebanon will lead to raising awareness online and offline on the different SRHR needs for women and girls: Break stigma and dismantle myths and misconceptions on women-s health narratives by dispersing body positive and inclusive messages and content. Ensure access to information to the public via the digital platform/Marsa-s and Oxfam-s social media, and offline by creating a reference for information on SRHR. Communicate results and achievements with relevant target audiences. Showcase Global Affairs Canada and Oxfam and their contribution to SRHR. Disseminate social media posts for project visibility and digital presence on Oxfam-s (Facebook and LinkedIn) and Marsa-s (Facebook and Instagram) through publishing the project-s designed information, human-interest stories, videos, and social-media friendly material. Promote the multiple products produced by women champions and groups online and increase the reach of products on SRHR to a wider and more diverse pool of audience. Job Description The consultant will: Develop a comprehensive digital communication and visibility strategy and tools for Oxfam and Marsa Design and plan the content on SRHR for Oxfam and Marsa-s social media platforms Guide the branding and visual identity of the project and maintain the guidance throughout the project Develop a comprehensive action plan and timeline for production in collaboration with Oxfam and Marsa Provide rounds of edits and drafts as requested by Oxfam and Marsa Follow Oxfam, Marsa, and donor's guidelines (which will be made available by Oxfam and Marsa) Oxfam and Marsa will: Provide background on the project. Review, guide, and approve the action plan and timeline. Provide rounds of feedback on the strategy and any other products and approve the final strategy and products. Qualifications Availability to start in September 2022. Relevant advanced university degree. Extensive communication, writing, and communication strategy drafting experience. Social media skills and experience, especially around women, girls, and SRHR. Experience in handling communications campaigns around women, girls, and SRHR, and experience in multi-channel communications. Experience in producing a range of communication branding materials. At least 3 years of professional experience in drafting communication strategies and tools. Familiarity with the context of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights. Previous experience working with I/NGOs in Lebanon. Working languages: English and Arabic. Excellent coordination and communication skills, flexible attitude, and respect for deadlines.
