• Tenders are invited for Feminist Lens and Gender Sensitive Language Editor. Closing Date: Tuesday, 30. Jul 2024 Intervention Sector(s): Women Status & Issues Remuneration range: 6000 (USD) Duration of Contract: Project We work in both conflict-affected and humanitarian contexts, supporting women-s rights and peace building with a long-term perspective. We strive to be a flexible and reliable partner for women-s rights organizations in these contexts, supporting them to adapt their work to the state of conflict and emergencies. Scope of the Call We are seeking an experienced individual or company with profound expertise in gender-sensitive language editing, proofreading, and incorporating a feminist lens to contribute to our project. The selected applicant will play a crucial role in formatting, editing, harmonizing, and incorporating a feminist lens to our Arabic and English online e-guides focused on feminist HR for emerging organizations available in English and Arabic. Objectives 1. Editing and Proofreading: · Review and edit content of two online guides to ensure it is inclusive and respectful of diverse gender identities. · Integrating feminist perspectives and principles into the thematic content of the e-guides. · Ensure that a general feminist lens and a gender sensitive language is coherent throughout the chapters. 2. Language Quality Assurance: · Ensure the cultural appropriateness and linguistic accuracy of Arabic content, taking into account regional variations and dialects. · Verify the accuracy of translations from other languages into Arabic, ensuring that the intended meaning and tone are preserved. 3. Collaboration and Communication: · Communicate effectively with project managers and stakeholders to provide updates on the status of editing tasks and address any concerns or feedback. 4. Research and Terminology Management: · Conduct research as needed to verify factual accuracy and terminology in Arabic content, particularly in specialized or technical subject areas. · Maintain a glossary of key terms and terminology specific to the organization or project, ensuring consistency in usage across all materials. 2 / 2 Key Responsibilities/Deliverables: · Proofread and edit Arabic and English e-guides for gender-sensitive language and feminist lens integration; the e-guide is comprised of 13 chapters.
