Request for proposals are invited for Preparation of Detailed Design for Solar PV Lighting for Solar Streets in Bourj Hammoud and Beirut. Closing Date: Wednesday, 01. Mar 2023 Intervention Sector(s): Infrastructure & Services Rehabilitation As a part of “Sustainable Integrated Municipal Actions - SIMA”, and based on technical and social assessments, UNOPS selected the intervention “Installation of Solar Street Lights in Bourj Hammoud and Beirut”. This intervention aims at enhancing safety and security within Bourj Hammoud and Beirut, particularly for women and children, and to facilitate access to other interventions. The intervention comprises two main packages to be implemented, these are: Package #1: Supply and Installation of a centralized Solar PV system with storage to feed Street Lights for identified areas in Bourj Hammoud and replacement of defective and non-efficient light fixtures by energy efficient light fixtures Package #2: Supply and Installation of stand-alone Solar PV Street Lighting (SPVL) in identified streets in Beirut (Approximate distance of 15 km) The assignment is limited to the preparation of a detailed design for both packages, i.e. package #1 and package #2. The design of the two packages is to be awarded to the same Consulting Firm (CF).
