Description:
Expression of Interest are invited for Promoting Sustainable Forest Management to Address Forest Fires in Lebanon - Assessment report covering (i) the role and responsibilities of all stakeholders concerned with forest fires forecast and response, (ii) the identification of immediate training needs and other specific needs to reduce risks and improve readiness and response to forest fires; and (iii) the provision of specific training including on-the-job-training to reduce risks and improve readiness and response to managing forest fires. This sub-task is linked to task 2 of the TOR; - Assessment report (i) on the existing forest fire forecast and reporting systems; and (ii) on needed data, models and tools (hardware, software) and mechanisms for effective and efficient sharing information among relevant stakeholders; and (ii) prioritized recommendations for identified areas for improvement, including the development of an integrated system; - Report on international good practices for the institutional arrangements for hosting an integrated forest fire forecast system; and - TOR for a forest fire management information system (i.e. integrating forest fire forecasts, detection and reporting).
