• Tenders are invited for Technical Agricultural Engineer. Closing Date: Tuesday, 09. Apr 2024 Intervention Sector(s): Agriculture, Development, Training & Capacity Building Remuneration range: 3000 to 4000 (USD) Duration of Contract: 1 month 1. Objective The main objective of the project is to improve the cultivation of Carob plant in Menjez- Akkar through maintaining farmer-s productivity and ensuring equitable access to better production and Good Agricultural Practices, during this project, 1000 grafted carob plant were distributed and cultivated by 50 farmers, some of them has already carob trees in their lands and some are new in this field and started investing in this sector. FTL is looking for a technical agriculture engineer to deliver theoretical and technical trainings to 50 farmers in Menjez Akkar. 2. Training Topics - Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) - Irrigation Technics - Integrated Pest Management (IPM) 3. Outcomes The Agricultural Engineer has to give 45 hours of theoretical and practical trainings to 50 farmers and provide them with specific good agricultural practices, irrigation technics and IPM, also try to solve any problem they are facing, give them advice to help increase their production and protect their crops. 4. Deliverables A total of 27 hours of theory (9 days) in the municipality hall and 18 hours (6 days) of practical trainings in one of the farmers lands, therefore 15 days of training, between 15th of April 2024 and 30th of May 2024. Approximate number of participants per session: 17 farmers per session Session duration: 3 hours per day 5. Qualifications University degree in agriculture engineering. Minimum 5 years- experience as an agricultural engineer on field. Proven knowledge of Fair-Trade principles. 6. Skills Adheres to FTL values Good interpersonal communication skills Engaged in developing self and others High degree of self-motivation Excellent leadership, team building, and management skills Good time management Organized and able to create multiple timelines and schedules Good knowledge of Arabic and English 7. Payment terms Payments will be made only through bank transfer or bank cheques The price will be paid in USD while the VAT will be paid in LBP based on the official exchange rate on the date of the invoice. Payment will be made within 15 business days of invoice receipt.
