  • Tenders are invited for Trainer for Water Management for Smallholder Farmers Located in Akkar (Abdeh and Hrar). Closing Date: Monday, 22. Apr 2024 Intervention Sector(s): Agriculture, Development Remuneration range: 3000 to 4000 (USD) Duration of Contract: 3 months Background Mada Association is seeking qualified Trainer for Water Management to provide training to smallholder farmers in Akkar under the GFFO-funded project β€˜Strengthening local climate-sensitive and universal WASH capacities using and disseminating the Green Humanitarian Aid approach, implemented by Mada Association in partnership with arche noVa. The project targets vulnerable communities and stakeholders with inclusive WASH services and capacity building that take into account the impacts of climate and environmental risks, to ensure they are able to prepare for, anticipate and provide humanitarian assistance in response to extreme weather events. Main Tasks and Responsibilities The Trainer selected will provide training to three groups of farmers located in Akkar (Borj Arab, Mohamara, and Hrar). Main tasks: Develop the training materials (PowerPoint presentations) in line with the topics mentioned in the table below. Mada will review the deliverables and provide comments and feedback, after which the Trainer will be requested to submit final revised and adjusted versions. Provision of 4 training sessions (3 theoretical and 1 practical) for each group. One session is equivalent to 3 hours (20 minutes break included). The three theoretical sessions will be conducted at a venue, and the trainer will facilitate the practical session at one of the farmer plots located in Akkar. Mada will be responsible for identifying the venue and the farmer-s plots. The sessions will be scheduled to take place on workdays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with two sessions occurring in the same week, spanning two consecutive weeks for each group. Prepare and conduct pre and post-tests to monitor participants- progress following the training. Monitor the attendance of participants and report any issues or dropouts to Mada-s focal point. At the end of the training sessions, provide Mada-s Project Manager with a final report (template provided by Mada) that includes: progress of farmers knowledge, attendance, challenges, recommendations on further support needed and specific areas of focus required for the skills development of the participants. The training material should include but not be limited to the following: Please refer to the attachment (Annex A - Training Material). The selected Trainer will deliver the above-mentioned training topics, and work closely with the farmers in order to create a healthy training environment while using interactive approaches and provide individual support when necessary. Furthermore, Mada-s team will work in close cooperation with the selected Trainer in order to ensure that training topics are adequately delivered. Minimum Qualification and Experience Degree in agriculture, plant production or relevant fields, 3 to 4 years of experience in delivering similar trainings, Demonstrated experience in Water Management, Time management, good organizational and communication skills, ability to be flexible, Strong interpersonal, reporting and facilitation skills Time Frame/Duration The mission includes development of training materials and delivery of 4 training sessions (3 theoretical and 1 practical). The selected Trainer is expected to start developing the training materials in Early May 2024 and delivering the training starting Mid-May 2024 for the 3 groups of farmers. How to apply Interested candidates must submit the following documents to vacancy@mada.org.lb specifying the full title of the consultancy in the subject of the email: Personal Curriculum Vitae, including previous work references, A Cover Letter that includes a detailed description of past work in conducting similar trainings to demonstrate their qualifications, Financial offer calculated per training session (3 hours) including the delivery of training sessions, transportation to training locations (both theoretical and practical), and the development of training materials and the delivery of final reports of each group. Payments will be made upon the completion of the training materials, the theoretical and practical sessions, field visits and delivery of reports, pre and post-tests, and daily attendance sheets as hard copies. The Trainer will provide Mada with an invoice including her/his fiscal number in order to receive the payment, if she/he has a fiscal number. If the trainer does not have a fiscal number, Mada will be responsible for complying with the competent tax authorities, and therefore 8.5% of the total amount received by the trainer will be deducted to be paid by Mada to cover the trainer-s taxes. All submissions not following these guidelines will be automatically rejected.
